our story · since 2021
good food, good coffee, and a reason to slow down.
agnello’s opened on Long Beach Island in the winter of 2021, in the middle of the pandemic, to give our neighbors fresh food, good coffee and a moment to themselves. Today agnello’s is three cafés, from the Jersey shore to Center City Philadelphia, plus a bakery.

how we got here
-
2021Barnegat Light
where it started.
agnello’s opened as a market on the north end of the island, with sandwiches, groceries and coffee. We fixed up the building ourselves.
The SandPaper called it “a new North End’s light in a pandemic.”

agnello’s on the cove.
A year later, agnello’s on the cove opened at Camden Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard: an espresso and smoothie bar with toasts and sandwiches.

over the bridge.
agnello’s crossed the bay to its first mainland café, at 657 East Bay Avenue. It’s open every day, and it’s where you pick up bread from our bakery, agnello’s mkt.

center city.
In January 2024, agnello’s opened a café inside the Sporting Club at the Bellevue in Center City, open from 5am on weekdays for the early crowd.

thank you, barnegat light.
After five years, our first home closed on January 11, 2026, when the building was set to be demolished. Thank you to everyone who walked through those doors.
our ethos
what we’re about
good, fresh food.
Fresh food and good coffee. That’s where every visit starts.
organic where we can.
Organic, fair trade coffee and organic milk. Alternative milks with no seed oils, and syrups we make in house wherever we can. We don’t have everything yet, but we keep taking small steps toward it.
a welcoming space.
We curate each café as a place to sit down, stay a while and feel at home.
your time, well spent.
Come in, slow down and enjoy your time with us. That’s it.
visit
come say hi.
