Strawberry Matcha Latte

1 teaspoon matcha powder
1/4 cup hot water
1/4 cup homemade strawberry syrup (see instructions below)
1 cup milk of your choice

For the homemade strawberry syrup:
1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water


First, make the homemade strawberry syrup. In a saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, and water.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the strawberries have broken down and the syrup has thickened slightly.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the syrup cool for a few minutes.
Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any bits of fruit.
Discard the solids and let the syrup cool completely.
In a glass, combine the milk and homemade strawberry syrup.
Use a milk frother to froth the milk until it becomes creamy and frothy.
In a separate glass or bowl, combine the matcha powder and hot water.
Use a spoon or matcha whisk to stir the matcha mixture until there are no lumps and the mixture is smooth.
Fill a glass with ice, leaving some space at the top.
Pour frothed milk and strawberry syrup over the ice. than your the matcha for layered colored contrast.
Stir the mixture until well combined.

Add more ice if needed and enjoy your refreshing and delicious Strawberry Matcha Iced Drink!

Optional: You can also top your drink with whipped cream and a drizzle of homemade strawberry syrup for an extra touch of sweetness and decadence.
